RELEASED: MAY 2009
After researching the carpet sector throughout 2007/08 eCarpets acknowledges the potential and implements a national roll out strategy schedulled for 2009:
DIRECTION IN 2009:
In 2009, the UK carpets sector has taken a bit of a knock in sales downturn, however despite this downturn eCarpets sees a massive growth in it's first year of operating online, the management team puts this down to it's simple ethos of providing UK carpet buyers with a simple no nonsense approach to carpet sales and a significant alternative to buying your carpets from the many traditional sources associated with the carpet industry.
Despite the economic downturn many of the huge carpet retailers seam to continue with an out dated approach to marketing and sales of carpets, with value for money being low on the agenda, and continuing to promote UK manufacturing less and less in favor of lesser quality imported carpets. eCarpets believes that the internet has caught up with the carpet industry and projects that any carpet companies that don't move with the times and embrace the internet may find that they suffer in the long term.
MARKET FORECAST 2009-2010:
eCarpets has a bold statement to make over the coming years and fully expects the nation's carpet buyers to savvy up when it comes to buying its carpets. Therefore the forecasts are extremely positive, with a 100% year upon year growth expectation with the focus being targeted at its primary goal which is to save cash on carpet for its user base, this will be achieved by not only by the support of UK consumers but also the support of the market leaders in UK manufacturing and also a national exclusive network of buying networks. Driving high quality uk manufactured carpets to the nation and working with a close network of independent flooring retailers to change the way we buy carpets and support local independent businesses. Sales through eCarpets are expected to reach around £5M over the next 12 months and a saving to customer trying to buy carpet in the UK are projected to be around £11M.
